Day 3: Macy's
Our last full day in New York β and we got totally lost in Macy’s. But before going there we passed through the public library.
Then we lost ourselves for hours in shopping. Like nearly every big department store, the façade was decorated with huge Christmas lights, and several floors inside were full of Christmas decorations.
After our shopping spree we… went for food… Who would have guessed π This time we chose something special: Ellen’s Stardust Diner. The idea in this restaurant is that the waitstaff also sing in between serving β maybe Broadway spotters will discover them. They sang really well (as far as we can tell, being total noobs at singing π ).
By the way: it’s better to come at times when people are not usually eating β otherwise you’ll face a very long waiting line.
Totally refreshed and in a good mood, we walked through Times Square. It’s so crazy bright.
Since it was our last day, one more stop: the Flatiron. It was a pity that the Harry Potter Store and Ralph’s Coffee were in between… The building itself was under renovation, but it was still nice to see.
Finally, we also wanted to check out the Martin Auer New York branch but it hadn’t opened yet. Next time, hopefully π€
